Group for Nature Preservation & Education
The Group for Nature Preservation and Education (GNAPE) is dedicated
to safeguarding India's natural heritage. GNAPE was founded in 2003,
with the primary objective of documenting and disseminating valuable
information on bio-diversity in India and strengthening efforts for
conservation.
Our core objectives
- Scientific Research & Policy Development
Undertake research studies/investigations aiming at conservation of
nature, and wild habitats. To support these research initiatives by
providing research grants and equipments to individuals, governmental
and non-governmental organizations. To interact with other
individuals, groups, and organizations that would eventually help in
developing better policies to improve our environment.
- Education & Community Outreach Programs
Identify, educate and improve the awareness levels of specific target
groups like school and college students and policy makers on
conservation along with regular visits to Protected Areas and Zoos to
stress on the need for a collective conservation initiative.
- Documentation & Publishing
Document, create and maintain archive of natural history; audio,
visual and print media (photographs, sound recordings, motion picture
films and video recordings of the regions natural history and
